Back To The Phuture began life in 2009 as a radio show on BBC 6 Music created by Wall Of Sound founder Mark Jones. The acclaimed programme connects the dots between synth pioneers and today’s electronic music artists. Back To The Phuture orchestrated the ground breaking collaborative recording sessions between La Roux and Heaven 17 the most requested musical event ever on BBC iPlayer with over one million views.

Radio guests have included Phil Oakey of The Human League, Gary Numan, Daniel Miller of Mute Records, Heaven 17’s Martyn Ware, Steve Strange of Visage, August Darnell of Kid Creole and the Coconuts, OMD, John Foxx, acclaimed NYC producer Arthur Baker and Blancmange.

"I get to ask the original creators the questions I’ve always wanted to know the answers to," says Mark. "What’s more, there are so many new artists who are embracing their synthfluences, Back to the Phuture is the platform for bringing them together."

As a natural extension of the 6 Music radio show has come Back To The Phuture concerts, live events, and club nights. These are all based on the idea that combining “new” and “established” artists and DJs creates an amazing attraction which is of great appeal to a very broad audience – literally from 15 to 50.

Jan 2011: Haircut 100 perform “Pelican West” Co promoters and support DJ at Haircut 100 unique performance of Pelican West.

March 2011: Blancmange Tour Support DJ on Blancmanges 2011 Tour.

April 2011: Back To The Phuture Live! Unique line up of Gary Numan, John Foxx, Motor, Mirrors and DJ Mark Jones at The Troxy London (cap 3000).

Sept 2011: Back To The Phuture at Bestival. Back To The Phuture curate the opening night of Bestival 2011.
